Forward Reflections

2020
White Clay Body, Cold Finish

I started doing ceramics 2017. “Forward Reflections” is a ceramic self portrait that reflects on the past three years. The sculpture has her eyes closed to signify looking back and reflecting on the ups and downs that the journey has taken me on. Her hair is a mixture of all the elements I use in my ceramic pieces - leaves, flowers, orbs and organic forms. She also represents the dynamics that life takes us through, finding beauty in the journey rather than in reaching the final destination.
